Hewlett Packard

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has been very active in trying to be a Green company. HP started its recycling program in 1987 and, throughout the 1990s, added ink recycling programs. As of 2007, management reached its goal of recycling 1 billion pounds of computer hardware and printer supplies. The company currently offers Trade In services that even cover non-HP products. It also has Return for Cash services for businesses, allowing companies to receive cash for unneeded equipment. This equipment is then refurbished and resold. HP offers to recycle HP inkjet and LaserJet cartridges for free. It offers to recycle any brand of computer hardware and also offers drop-off locations for rechargeable batteries in the United States and Canada. HP has partnered with the National Cristina Foundation to place donated computer equipment that can be reused.
